Deborah was a hitwoman/assassin hired by a businessman named Knapp to deal with MacGyver, whose environmental study threatened Knapp's marina development project. After failing to scare MacGyver off, she met and romanced him trying to sway him from foregoing the studies and even trying to bribe him, ultimately attempting to kill him by blowing up his boat. The explosion only blinded MacGyver, however, and she tried to stab him by taking him to a remote location. MacGyver managed to subdue her, and later got her to testify against Knapp not only justifying an eighteenth month study project for the coast, but also cancels Knapp's marina entirely as well as put Knapp behind bars.

Two years later, Deborah was released from prison and began pursuing MacGyver. She traveled to a wilderness location where MacGyver, Pete Thornton, and Jack Dalton were prospecting for gold. After kidnapping Pete and Jack, she lured MacGyver out of hiding. But thanks to the efforts of his friends, Deborah fell over a cliff and clung to the edge. MacGyver attempted to pull her up, but she drew a knife and tried to stab him. MacGyver let go, and she seemingly fell to her death.
