The Hades X1 is an experimental bioweapon devolved by Spearhead Operations that utilizes a next-gen version of botulinum toxin. Even a small amount of the toxin could wipe out the population of a major city within a few days. It was developed to neutralize populations without destroying geographical assets. Hades has a very short shelf life and the toxin has to be used quickly after it was acquired.

The black market arms dealer Lazlo Carver acquired Hades X1 and sold it to former DXS agent Martin Bishop. Bishop attached the bioweapon to a torpedo and planned to attack Los Angeles. Angus MacGyver created a gel firm to contain the torpedo before it could contaminate the water facilities.
