KX7 is a drug cocktail created by James MacGyver designed to increase soldiers’s strengths and senses. KX7 had the ability to keep soldiers awake and alert while at the same time dulling pain receptors in their brain. James originally researched the drug as a possible way to save soldiers lives but chose never to test it on anyone because his research suggested it would cause the user to suffer from a major heart attack. Jonah Walsh became interested in producing and selling KX7 and had his team hack the formula when Murdoch infiltrated The Phoenix Foundation.
Season 2[]
Walsh lured his former partner James MacGyver into a trap so he could capture him and force him to continue developing KX7. Initially, MacGyver refused to help Walsh but decided to pretend to cooperate when Walsh threatened the life of his son. The Phoenix agents destroyed Walsh’s production facility delaying his creation of the drug.

James MacGyver intensified his manhunt for Jonah Walsh after he received reliable Intel claiming that Walsh finished developing KX7
