The Prometheus Syndrome is the 4nd episode of Season 7 in the original version of MacGyver.
Summary[]
There is an arsonist, called Prometheus, loose in MacGyver's neighborhood. Naturally, the Fire Inspector and the police are clueless, and have enlisted MacGyver has to do all the real work to catch the arsonist.
Trivia[]
The part of the chief of the Arson department Earl Stringer was played by Randolph Mantooth. Mantooth is most famous for playing the fireman/paramedic John Gage in the TV show Emergency! (1972).

Goofs[]
The shadow of the camera can be seen on the white wall (lower left side of the screen) as Mac walks out of a room at the newspaper office.
There wasn't much thought put into the list of newspaper employees as the first of three entries gives "Santa Luisa" as the town, then the second entry also has Santa Luisa and lists "1117" in the street address, and then the third address says "2117" in the street address.
