Wilt Bozer is a member of The Phoenix Foundation and has been best friends with Angus MacGyver since childhood.

Personality[]

Wilt Bozer is incredibly empathetic and cares deeply for his friends, all of whom just call him by his last name. At the beginning of the series, Bozer is focused on trying to further his film-making career in his spare time, while flipping burgers at his day job. Though he was MacGyver’s roommate, he didn’t know what Mac and Jack, and later Riley, really did, believing them all to work at a think tank.

After a dangerous encounter with Murdoc, Bozer learns the truth, causing him to briefly question his friends because of their lies. After some time, he accepts that they lied to protect him, and he also accepts a job at the Phoenix Foundation that Director Thornton offers him, recognizing his skills with prosthetics.

After Thornton’s betrayal, Bozer expressed concerns that he will be fired by Thornton’s replacement. He is, like all the team, somewhat apprehensive of Matty Webber at the start, but an incident occurs where Bozer gathers up the courage to question a conclusion she had erroneously jumped to on a mission. Matty appreciated Bozer’s courage and critical thinking that saved the day, and Bozer is kept on at the Phoenix Foundation.

Most of the work Bozer does is in the Phoenix labs, helping to build an AI named Sparky and making prosthetics and masks for field agents. He dreams of fieldwork and the glories he thinks it will bring, but after his first official field mission goes south, he realizes that, for the time being, the lab is exactly where he wants to be.

For several episodes in the first season, Bozer has an unrequited crush on Riley Davis. He helps her with her parole officer by pretending to be her boyfriend, in order to gain the digits of her phone number. He sees this as Riley playing hard to get, but eventually does realize that Riley is not interested in him as anything more than a friend. Once Bozer accepts this, the two of them become very good friends.

In season two, Bozer is seen doing more fieldwork, while still spending the majority of his time in the lab. In order to develop his field skills, Matty sends him to “spy school,” where he is partnered with Leanna Martin. The two become close friends and eventually romantic partners.

Bozer is shown to be impulsive at times, but his instincts are almost always right. He cares deeply for his friends.
